Johannesburg: the PSL title race is very much alive with the contest between Mamelodi Sundowns and the mighty Orlando Pirates who all won their weekend game to keep the momentum going.
Mamelodi sundowns played Bidvest Wits over the weekend where they won 2-0 , thanks to their aggressive approach to the game. This approach saw the Bidvest defenders being under pressure from players such as maestro Percy Tau and Sibusiso Vilakazi. Both goals were scored on the first half of the match by Themba Zwane on the 20th minutes and Sibusiso Vilakazi on the 36th minutes.
The win over Wits saw Sundowns maintaining their top spot and also putting pressure at Olando Pirates who are contesting for the title race with less than 4 games to play this season. The buccaneers as they are affectively know played well with a late winner scored by Thabo Qalinge that claimed all maximum points.
The first half saw Amazulu pressing harder and ultimately getting a goal on the 11th minutes through Mabhuti Khenyeza and they continued to put the buccaneers under pressure , missed some opportunities which would have seen them doubling the lead.
The buccaneers responded on the 32 minutes through Musa Nyatama’s goal where they finally got ther equalizer after several attempts. With 10 minutes before the game comes to an end, pirates substitute Thabo Qalinge became the hero by scoring a late goal.
Some argue that Mamelodi Sundowns got an upper hand to win the title as it has a game in hand and also looking at how coach Pitso Mosimane is still haunt by last season where he lost the title to Bidvest. While others argue that Orlando Pirates can still win the league with 3 games remaining.
