Cape Town: Patricia De Lille has been rescinded as a member of the Democratic Alliance (DA).
It has been reported that the federal executive, which is the party’s top decision-making body, made the announcement in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
The battle between DA caucus and De Lille has sparked political quarrel, with some members of the party accusing her of destabilizing the constitution of the DA including misconduct.
De Lille last week had to provide reasons to the party’s top decision-making body as to why she should not resign.
Critics against De Lille emerged after attending a memorial service for the late African National Congress(ANC) struggle stalwarts Winnie Madikizela-Mandela which was organized by the Economic Freedom fighters (EFF).
There have been claims that there’s a likelihood for her to join the opposition parties particularly the EFF.
De Lille didn’t react on the recent development following her removal as a member of the main opposition party.
