Johannesburg: President Cyril Ramaphosa will today lead meeting along with African National Congress (ANC) Top six to discuss the Political future North West Premier Supra Mahumapelo.
Last week the ANC’s top brass called for Mahumapelo to vacate office, he refused to step down as provincial chairperson of the ANC in the North West province.
This comes after violent protests erupted in North West after allegations of corruption were leveled against Mahumapelo.
Reports reveals that the National Council of Province’s Chair Thandi Modise has been tipped to take over from him.
While The North West premier is seemingly clinging to power despite a request by President Cyril Ramaphosa to step down.
ANC delegates say the party didn’t inform them about the outcome of the meeting regarding Mahumapelo’s future.
Ramaphosa is expected to use today’s officials meeting to report back on his discussions with the embattled premier.
