Johannesburg: despite their 5-2 win Germany Real Madrid will need to work hard to defend their lead, this after winning the first leg against Bayern Munich last week.
The much anticipated and waited second leg semifinal between Real Madrid and Bayern Munich will take place tonight at Santiago Bernabeu ( kick-off: 8:45 PM CEST).
The German giant are expected to put in a big fight for the place in the final, while Real Madrid will also fight back to defend their title and console themselves after losing La Liga title to old rivals Barcelona.
It is likely that Bayern Munich defender Boateng and forward Robben would not be playing on the night as they both sustained injuries in the first semifinal leg.
The Dutchman Robben is still recovering from a groin injury he sustained last week at Allianz Arena and is not among the Bavarians traveling contingent.
Taken from last game’s comments the Bayern coach Jupp Haynes said: “ the two goals we gave away were gifts”.
At this level, mistakes like shouldn’t happen. we didn’t our chances either-normally we’re more clinical. And that’s how the results came about. But I have rarely seen a Real Madrid team give up so many chances, so we will be traveling to Madrid with hope”
While on the other hand Real Madrid coach Zinedine Zidane said ‘Im very satisfied because it was a difficult game.
This comes especially at the start we were constantly under pressure and had double clearing the ball cleanly. But the result doesn’t mean anything because Bayern are capable of making it up in Bernabeu”, said Zidane.
