Johannesburg: As thousands of South African residents are preparing themselves for Freedom Day annually celebration on the 27 April, President Cyril Ramaphosa is expected to deliver the keynote address.
The 2018 Freedom Day is a national event which is set to take place at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium, Bloemfontein, Free State Province.
Freedom Day recognizes and celebrates the strides that have been made since 1994, and acknowledges that South Africa is a far better society than it was under apartheid.
The event will be held under the theme “The year of Nelson Rolihlahla Mandela: towards full realization of our freedom through radical socio-economic transformation”.
President Cyril Ramaphosa will deliver the keynote address.
This year’s celebration coincides with the centenary anniversary of former President Nelson Mandela and Mama Albertina Sisulu.
